Antoher Foodie Friday!!

Good morning peeps! Another Friday is upon us and I for one could not be more excited! DH just has to work a half day today and then he is off for his summer vacation, two whole weeks!

Since it is Friday that means all things "food" today and first up is the cutest little "gadget" you could ever want!

Porcelain Milk Jug

That brings us to this week's menu, I have a couple new recipes and a few old stand bys, so a pretty tasty week to come!

Menu for the week of August 1st until the 7th

• Sat- Pancakes - Fresh Fruit.
• Sun- Banana and Black Bean Empanadas (<--LINK) - Salad.
• Mon- Sticky Orange and Honey Chicken Legs - Stuffed Peppers.
• Tues- Sesame Peanut Noodles.
• Wed- Tomato Pie - Salad.
• Thurs- Chicken Kabob - Home Made Pitas - Yogurt Cucumber sauce.
• Fri- Tacos.

So with that I will wrap things up for another week. I am not sure with DH being home and us getting L settled in his new school place if I will be able to blog every day, but hopefully I will be able to scope some private time out to update everyone! Thought of the day....

RUDE PEOPLE...seriously, what is up with people lately??

Yesterday I received an email from someone stating that they want me to remove a photo I copied from their blog, a photo from a post I made 5 MONTHS AGO, that is like, what, 150 posts ago??

The thing is I had never even seen this persons blog before the email, I downloaded the photo from one of those "free for public domain" sites. In any case I deleted the photo and sent off an email stating that next time this person feels the need to make accusations they might want to take a minute and inquire about where the person got the photo from first before jumping all over them!

Seriously, did no one's grandma ever tell them you catch more flies with honey then vinegar?? LOL

Playing with High Dynamic Range imaging...

My friend Barb over at Black Belt Scrapping inspired me to try my hand at high dynamic range imaging. A lot of these are older photos I took awhile back since I haven't had time to get out with my camera lately, something I am hoping to remedy soon!

Anyways, I think they turned out pretty cool...

Weekend in Review!!

Good Monday morning peeps! I hope your weekend was as lovely and relaxing as ours was! I can't believe there is only one more week until both kids are back into their school like places, I am getting nervous about how L will do, but having his sister there full time for the first two weeks will be a big help, so I am trying to take deep breathes and think positively!!

In other news, I got in touch with my inner Martha Saturday and made some English muffins (<--LINK) They didn't have the nooks and crannies of store bought ones, but were pretty darn tasty, if I do say so myself! For some reason I can't find English muffins here, I have seen crumpets at Bilka, but alas no English muffins, go figure! Since we are already on the subject of Martha, I was over the moon excited to see that ZINIO.COM is now carrying MARTHA STEWART LIVING (<--link) It is a much better deal then having to stalk the Kiosks around here and pay 60 kr a pop for an issue!

We also saw two very cool movies this weekend...

First up was - Nostradamus: 2012 (<--LINK)

I found this really quite interesting, those of you who read this blog know how much a LOVE a good conspiracy theory and those types of things, so this was right up my alley!

The second movie was HOME (<--LINK)

"With aerial footage from 54 countries, Home is a depiction of how the Earth's problems are all interlinked."

This was just a visually stunning movie to watch, yes it can be a bit "preachy" at times, but the message is a simple, but important one. The aerial footage is just breathtaking and the soundtrack is gorgeous, definitely worth a watch!

Food-Dum-Diggity Friday!!

Yay, it is that time of week again where all things "food" find their way onto my little bloggy...

This week I have a very cute little "gadget" for you, it is like the modern day version of Laura Ingall's metal lunch pail! I want to go back to school just so I can carry one of these! LOL

• Mon- Stuffed Potato Skins - Salad.
• Tues- Baked Deli Focaccia Sandwiches (<--LINK)
• Wed- Easy Stromboli (<--LINK) - Some sort of veggie with it.
• Thur- Thai Chicken Curry - Rice.
• Fri- Leftovers.

Doing my part for the economy!!

So yesterday DH took a vacation day and we hit the mall for some back to school/much needed shopping, we dropped a pretty penny (thank you quarterly baby bonus money) but picked up pretty much everything we will need for the coming year. The only thing left that I will need to buy is snowsuits for both kids and L needs new winter boots.

Fields was actually having a sale, so I got some pretty good deals and since I know you are all dieing to know what I bought (actually your probably don't really care, but I am going to list it anyways. LOL)

• 2 sets of rain gear for the kids -- Check!
• Rain Boots for me -- Check!
• An Umbrella for me -- Check!
• 2 pairs of running shoes for S -- Check!
• 1 pair of running shoes for L -- Check!
• A back pack for L -- Check!
• A lunch pail for L -- Check!
• 2 water bottles for the kids -- Check!
• A new bike helmet for S -- Check!
• A Fall jacket for S -- Check!
• A Diddel pencil case that contains pencils, markers etc for S -- Check!
• 4 Shirts for DH -- Check!
• 8 pairs of socks for DH -- Check!
• 6 pairs of underwear for DH -- Check!
• A pair of flip flops for S -- Check!
• A bunch of pants and shirts for both kids -- Check!
• 1 sit down lunch at Burger King -- Check!

My feet were killing me by the end, but it felt good to get so much bought and out of the way. So with that I will wrap things up for today..have a good one and until next time..TATA!!

Weekend in Review!!

Good Monday morning peeps! I hope you all had a great weekend. We were suppose to hit the mall, but we all woke up late Saturday and just decided to veg at home. DH will take a vacation day sometime this week and we'll all head to the mall then. Speaking of vacation, just two weeks until DH has a couple weeks off! To say I am excited would be an under statement! LOL

I have a bit of sad scrapping news, I decided to step down from all my creative team spots, with it being summer, my mojo at an all time low and an opportunity awaiting me starting in August, it was time to step aside and let someone fresh and new have my spot. I am totally bummed though and will miss all the girls like crazy! :(

We also were able to see two new movies this past weekend...

First up was BRUNO



Words cannot describe how in love I am with Sacha Baron Cohen, the man is just brilliant! This movie is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended, not even sure it is for the medium offended, but we laughed our asses off the whole time! So funny, though I will admit I think Borat was a tad bit better overall. Still Bruno gets two thumbs up from us!!

The second movie was THE SOLOIST



Really, Really liked this one a lot! Jamie Foxx was amazing in it and I just love anything Robert Downey Jr. does. It is a very powerful film that I believe makes a very powerful statement. Another two thumbs up for this one!

Foodie Friday!!

Woot, it is Friday! This week seemed never ending even though I had tons on my plate, go figure..anyways, as per the rules, it is Friday and that means all things "food" here on my little corner of the web!

This week's gadget is a HOOT! A pasta timer that plays operatic music when your pasta is ready! Really, who could want for more?? LOL

• Thurs- Hotdogs - Tater Salad - Veggies.
